Was successfully funded on Kickstarter and is now available

This kickstarter campaign Was to fund a small run of an 8x10 physical print magazines centered on Creating the life you want by doing what you love.

This years theme is “Becoming Fully Me”. It’s a collection of learnings from creatives I interviewed, beautiful photography, poems & articles centered on creating your own path in life.

Background

6 years ago I started designing a magazine as a way to capture my journey of learning to live life intentionally with a hope that I could inspire others to wake up to life as well. What began as a passion project has grown over the years and now is less about my journey and more about exploring how everyday creative people can create the life they want.

I interview artist and creatives and showcase untraditional paths that may help inspire you on how you can create your path. I have learned that people who are successful in life are very intentional with their time.

What to expect in this magazine

Overview

This years theme is “Becoming Fully Me”. It’s a collection of learnings from two creatives I interviewed, a few poems, beautiful photography & several articles diving deeper on topics like, why execution of ideas matters more than ideas, or the importance of finding environments/activities that allow you to become your full self, just to name a few.

Interviews

The first section is unique writing focused on artists/creatives that have inspired me over the last year. Anthony and Elena are two incredible creatives out thirteen creatives I interviewed this last year. Both with very different backgrounds and approaches to life, yet so much in common as well. There is something incredible you can learn form seeing how others navigate their world.

Anthony Francis

Anthony is an artist, photographer, speaker, and educator here in San Antonio Texas. I recently came across his work and was so drawn to the incredible emotion and storytelling. I. have also come to find he is such a kind and open person.

Elena Carrasco

Elena is one of the most creative people I know. I’m impressed with her rare ability to combine both arts and engineering in every thought process. It is always an incredible conversation when I talk with her. We share a similar mindset.

Articles & Poems

After the interview section with fellow artist I have a series of articles and poems. These writings are inspired by looking back over the year and articulating topics, concepts or learnings I have discovered from my personal growth.

This is my process for creating articles Poems and quotes - During the year I will create tweets, social quotes, or YouTube videos that highlight some aspect I have noticed. I then I take those tweets and topics and expand on them, elaborating and sharing my understanding. I believe inspirations move us to act and it’s our actions that lead us to the changes we want to see.

It is my hope that this collection of writing, photography and poems will be that spark of inspiration that will lead you to act.

Photography

whiteSands2020-21-1.jpg

The magazine will be filled with stunning images that I have taken over the last year. Before everything else, I was a photographer so I made a very intentional decision to make photography take up large areas of the magazine. From landscapes to people, to plants, I really enjoy capturing life. I believe life itself is beautiful and I strive to have my photography be true to life. There is minimal editing and I tend to enjoy low horizons large open spaces and emotion.

Side Note - Actually the idea of the magazine came after a year of rejection after rejection, trying to get my work published on other magazines. I figured I could create my own :)
